Highlands woman faces two misdemeanor theft evading arrest charges
Jennifer Rene Jenkins, 35, tied to a Baytown theft spree with a fleeing incident that ended in a fatal wreck, is charged with two misdemeanors for theft and evading arrest. Her accomplice Shannon Chauncey, 46, remains jailed on two felonies for evading arrest, causing a teen's death and injuring another during the chase. Police linked the alleged shoplifting to a pursuit that prompted the crash, after a witness alerted officers.
