A heavy downpour in the Baytown area reached 14 inches on Monday with 4.1 inches in 40 minutes before rainfall tapered. Year to date Baytown totals 48.6 inches, about 1.42 inches above the 17.18 inch average for the period. Registration for the University of Houston summer session set for June 5 and 6, with careful alphabetical enrollment for 12 week and first summer week courses. Honor graduates Marion Turner Gerbig and Goose Creek and Ann Clack Liebig headline UH graduation with BS degrees.

The Associated Press reports rugged weather across much of Texas with thunderstorms hail and tornadoes late Monday into Tuesday. Up to 6 inches of rain fell near Three Rivers while areas from Corpus Christi to Abilene and the Panhandle saw flash floods damaging windows and power lines.
