State Briefs: Lubbock man charged in baby’s death
Lubbock man Clifford Wade Coles is charged with capital murder in the March 2009 death of his 11 month old step‑grandson Shawn Patrick Smith. Coles remains jailed in Lubbock County on $500,000 bail. autopsy shows blunt force injuries. Prosecutors have not stated if they will seek the death penalty.
