Hutchison Secures $15 Million for Harris County Debris Cleanup

U S Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison announced FEMA will award Harris County 15 364 342 to reimburse contractors for debris removal after Hurricane Ike. The funds cover vegetative and construction debris and disposal costs and also fund removal of dangerous trees and limbs to protect public safety.

Libraries kick off 2009 summer reading program in Chambers County

Chambers County libraries Anahuac Winnie and Mont Belvieu launch the 2009 Texas Reading Club theme Libraries Deep in the Heart of Texas with programs for all ages starting June 8 and running to July 17. Preschool to elementary readers follow the traditional club while teens join Time Twisting Reading with game cards and prizes. Adults may read or listen using OverDrive books with four titles yielding raffle entries for gift cards. Contact branches for details or visit the site.
