Obama honors fallen service members at Arlington Memorial Day
President Obama saluted Americans who died in battle and urged repayment of their sacrifices at Arlington National Cemetery. He noted it was the first Memorial Day in 14 years without major U.S. ground war, praised America's diversity, and cited the end of the Afghanistan combat mission and ongoing efforts against ISIL. Biden spoke with Iraqi PM Abadi, pledging U.S. support as forces in Ramadi and Syria face advances.

Baytown annexes Old Cedar Bayou parcel under Poha agreement
Port of Houston Authority still owns part of the Old Cedar Bayou land while Baytown moves to annex 18.75 acres to extend its ETJ. Officials say no immediate development plans exist and a service plan will show little need for new municipal services. The goal is orderly future growth and development oversight within the extended boundary.
