Anahuac High School Rockets Take Flight

Anahuac High School students from two teams joined 14 area high schools in a May rocket event. Students designed built and tested their own rockets as part of a STEM focused curriculum emphasized by teacher Kirk Moore.

City and VFW Post 912 to hold Memorial Day service

The city of Baytown in conjunction with VFW Post 912 will host a Memorial Day service at 11 a.m. Monday at the Veterans Memorial Plaza in the City’s Bicon area. City officials urge residents to attend and honor fallen service members.

Angry mother attacks officer during rescue in Baytown

Baytown police report an officer injured when a mother intervening in a suspect child abuse incident was struck at the 400 block of Forrest Avenue around 2 a.m. Friday. Officers attempted to intervene as the woman struck the 5-year-old, and she then attacked the officers.

BPD officer aids Moore tornado rescue effort

Texas Task Force members from College Station arrived in Moore Oklahoma to assist in weather disaster search operations. Baytown detective Russell White said deployment began about 6 PM Monday, four hours after the tornado touched down, with teams sweeping streets to assess wreckage.
