Memorial Day observances across Baytown Crosby and Anahuac
Memorial Day events occur across the area starting at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Plaza Baytown with a guest speaker posting of the colors and a wreath ceremony while residents are invited to bring wreaths. An earlier 10 a.m. program at Sterling White Funeral Home Highlands features a wreath placement and remarks by Harris County Commissioner Sylvia Garcia plus taps bagpipes a dove release and aerial flyover. Crosby merges its observances with Fourth of July activities for hundreds of veterans. Anahuac hosts a 2 p.m. ceremony at Freeman-South American Legion Post 104 honoring all veterans in front of the new Chambers County Veterans Memorial. Palms Memorial Park Dayton will host Frank Jordan and Karla Burris at 11 a.m. with an aerial flyover at 602 1/2 N Main Street.
