Bernick finalist in two Baytown sports honors

Paige Bernick of Baytown Lee High School is named a finalist for the Houston Athletic Committee Spring Sports Scholar-Athlete Awards in both girls soccer and girls track. The 2004 Lee salutatorian and former student body president is noted for high academic honors and extensive service including NHS VP, Key Club, Good Sportsmanship League, and teaching assistant roles.

Sterling seniors head to college with seven pledges

Sterling volleyball coach Nadine Horne sends seven seniors to college, including Keri Neely who signed with San Jacinto College. Nebraska Draws Texas In Big 12 First Round

Astros snap losing skid with 5-0 win over Cubs

Roy Oswalt fired seven sharp innings for his first win in over a month as the Astros topped the Cubs 5-0. Berkman and Palmeiro homered, Houston within a half game of the second-place Cubs. Dan Miceli and Octavio Dotel closed a three-hitter for the third shutout of the season.
