Chambers County adopts licensing for new septic systems
The Texas Water Quality Board issued an order governing new private sewage disposal systems in Chambers County. It requires mandatory licensing and inspection for new septic tanks, up to 100 dollars, with grandfather clauses for existing systems. Licenses last five years and can be renewed, and plans encourage municipal-type wastewater solutions nearby. The order aims to protect Lake Anahuac and county waters from septic seepage, with enforcement through the county commissioners court.
