Click It or Ticket drives Texas seat belt push
The Texas Department of Transportation runs the Click It or Ticket campaign May 22 to June 4 to enforce seat belt laws. State law requires all occupants to buckle up with fines up to 200 dollars, 250 for unrestrained children, plus court costs. Seat belts save lives, reduce ejections, and have boosted Texans wearing them from 76 to about 92 percent since 2002. David Bloom notes the program’s impact on injuries and costs.
