Online chat leads to cross border case and death
McAllen reports that Jeff George Ostfeld and Jennifer Malone connected in a tranquilizers chat room. Malone from Roseburg Oregon sought escape and Ostfeld from Las Vegas proposed plans. They met in South Texas and crossed into Mexico. Ostfeld returned while Malone did not. A federal magistrate ordered Ostfeld held without bond for trying to smuggle animal tranquilizers into the United States and Mexican authorities want to question him in Malone's death.
