Baytown attorney Shannon L. Morris, 58, was found shot in a Jacksonville motel room around 6 39 p m Thursday police found a .22 caliber pistol in the room Morris had been convicted in Houston last October 23 of displaying obscene photographs to a 35 year old woman and sentenced to two years in jail plus a $1 000 fine Friends here said funeral arrangements were not yet announced and he was survived by a Lake Jackson brother Morris was out on a $2 900 bond while appeal to the Court of Criminal Appeals continued

SPACE CENTER Houston AP After a hectic day that put Americans on the threshold of a lunar landing the Apollo 10 astronauts circled the moon and studied potential landing sites. Air Force Col. Thomas P. Stafford Navy Cmdrs John W. Young and Eugene A. Cernan filmed lunar landmarks and prepared for a return splashdown in the Pacific Ocean Monday. Their eight hour sweep within 9.4 miles of the surface proved the LEM can operate in lunar environment and that the Sea of Tranquility area is smooth enough for a touchdown with careful piloting.

Crosby School Bond Vote Heads To Saturday Ballots
Crosby taxpayers will decide on a 2.2 million bond to fund a site and a new 22 classroom high school and Barrett Station elementary, boosting the tax rate about 38 cents.
