The Bay Area Relay for Life Committee extends thanks to all who helped make the event a huge success. The relay has raised 505321 dollars and 39 cents and continues to rise, totaling over 2.7 million since its 1998 start. In 2005 it was the top Relay in Texas for the South year in a row. The American Cancer Society funds 25 percent of its budget to new cancer research each year. The note emphasizes personal impact of cancer and calls for continued support from committee members sponsors team captains walkers and volunteers.
