Defendants Testify Planned In Tones Case Monday
Houston in a murder trial defense and state rested after questioning relatives of Carolyn Lima and Leslie Ashley in the Feb 6 death of real estate man Fred Tones. Lima 18 and Ashley 23 will testify at their own trial Monday morning, said attorney Jack Knight. District Judge Miron A. Love recessed court Friday after Mrs. Tones described chatting with her husband by phone and not seeing his charred body. Lima’s mother testified about Lima living with Ashley and their marriage claim. Ashley’s mother said the couple returned home bruised and claimed Ashley fought and left.
