In Saigon Indo China Premier Ngo Ninh Giem and several supporters of absentee Bao Dai are arrested on charges of plotting with rebel strongmen to overthrow the American-backed government. The crackdown follows a wave of unrest tied to Viet Nam’s leadership during the crisis.
Mrs Enid Bell Collins of 407 West Lobit and her eight year old daughter Camellia Jean were injured Thursday in a traffic accident at Decker and West Lobit. Collins was treated at Bay town hospital for a neck injury and the child for a bruised back. A seaman, Charles Thomas Moore of 404 Market, said he did not see the stop in time and received a ticket for failure to keep proper lookout.

A burglar stole a chewing gum machine cash and clothing from a Community Laundry. The machine contained about six dollars in gum and eight dollars in cash. items including a pair of trousers and an ice pick were also taken. The loot was later found near the laundry with the gum missing. Police described the incident as a costly gum theft with minimal recovered value.
