Goose Creek seeks rezoning amid rapid growth and new schools
Superintendent Randal O'Brien notes 850 capacity as a benchmark for large elementary schools while Goose Creek Consolidated ISD implements periodic boundary changes. Beth Dombrowa says growth outpaced projections, prompting multiple rezones since 2003 to relieve overcrowding with three new campuses opening and more adjustments planned for 2014 through 2015. Parents of SFA Elementary await notices about student moves, with no appeal process for relocations within a three year span.
