Large cafe chains eye Baytown growth in areas
Baytown to welcome Sizzler and Bonanza steak houses as large chains plan new outlets. W L Jones Jr of Ideal Home Improvement says April negotiations with Collins Food International Chicago completed for a Sizzler site east side Highway 146 south of East James. Truman Cox of Bayou Lumber cites Bonanza plans west side Highway 146 north of East James with May 25 construction details. A McDonald Drive In is also negotiating. McDonalds real estate has accepted Jones price offer though purchase not yet made. Final survey pending before Sizzler construction begins.

A Baytown boy, 8, was injured after running into Cedar Bayou Road traffic and colliding with a truck in the 400 block. He was taken by Baytown Ambulance Service to Gulf Coast Hospital in good condition. The collision occurred at 4 50 p m Thursday near Pimlico racetrack.
