Investors Warmed To Use Canton In Buying Stock
New York AP report notes a rush to buy low priced stocks and new issues by unseasoned firms. Keith Funston, president of the New York Stock Exchange, warns that such demand mocks investing and urges caution against tips. He says low price or new issues are not guarantees, only higher risk, amid rising volume on both major exchanges. He adds no link between his remarks and an SEC probe of the American Stock Exchange or a House survey of SEC operations.
