Mrs. Sara M. Wadley mother of Sun General Manager John Wadley dies after explosion at site of Mondale visit. Rites set for graveside services Thursday at City Cemetery in Nashville Tennessee. She died Monday night in a Houston hospital.
A North Shore barmaid testified Vernon McManus appeared scared and in a hurry as she helped him flee to avoid capture. The testimony came during the McManus murder trial as prosecutors played a taped call, and described plans tied to conspiracy and murder charges. The case also featured discussions of a hit man and a plywood brokerage venture linked to McManus.
Austin reports House and Senate negotiators finished work on a speeding bill that would fund public schools and teacher salaries with about 4.935 million.
