Landfill fight fund-raising goal reached in time
BEACH CITY Informed Citizens United has collected enough money to post a $50,000 surety and halt the TSP landfill permitting process in West Chambers County. ICU raised about $10,000 more on Wednesday, with pledges still coming in, to fund the lawsuit against TSP Development Ltd. Baytown groups donated, including $5,000 from the Baytown Rotary Club and $2,500 from the Baytown Chamber of Commerce. A federal judge ordered the surety bond as a condition of a temporary injunction against the permit process.
