Court Fights Plan to Grow Houston Port Authority Board
Houston commissioners oppose proposed legislation to expand the Houston Port Authority board from five to seven members. The bill would add Harris County input, with two members named by the county and three by the city mayors, opposed by the county and City officials. The Harris County Mayors and Councilmen’s Association backs the measure, arguing area cities need a voice on the Port Authority.
