Baytown Habitat dedicates 37th home to Daniels family

Kenneth and LaTaisha Daniels received keys to their new Baytown Habitat for Humanity home on May 4, marking a 13 month journey to homeownership. A crowd of supporters attended the dedication, the 37th such house built by Baytown Habitat.

Baytown City Council Hears Results of Resident Satisfaction Survey

The Baytown City Council reviewed the Direction Finder Citizen Survey showing 76 percent view the city as an excellent or good place to work and 68 percent as an excellent or good place to live. Overall service ratings are strong with police, solid waste, parks, and city staff rated highly while traffic flow lags at 41 percent satisfaction.

Lee College Liberty Center to Open June 5

The Lee College Liberty Center will open June 5 from 10 a.m. to noon in space donated by the Geraldine D. Humphrey’s Cultural Center. The facility will offer academic programs, financial aid guidance, and business counseling to Liberty Dayton residents as the area experiences economic growth and community interest in closer college services. Liberty Mayor Carl Pickett praised the partnership, noting Lee College has long served the community with innovative programs and aims to expand its presence locally.
