Missouri City Denies Hall For Witnesses Convention
Joplin officials denied Memorial Hall use for a three day Jehovahs Witnesses convention in September after the religious group appealed a public utilities commission ruling. Over ten residents testified at the hearing while Gold Star mothers and veterans group members urged approval arguing the hall, a WWI memorial, should host the pacifist organization. The report also notes a separate historic art remark about Dutch painters Rembrandt and Frans Hals.
