Sterling faces Fort Bend Elkins in a best of three regional quarterfinal at Clear Lake with games Friday and Saturday at 7 30 p m and a possible third game at 1 p m Saturday. Ticket prices list adults and children at 4 with passes for coaches and teachers.
The schedule features Barbers Hill at Montgomery in softball at 7 p.m. and several Little League playoff games at 6 p.m. including Central Cubs versus West Devil Rays, East Astros versus North A's, North Red Sox versus East Rangers, and multiple matchups across divisions with West White Sox, Central Dodgers, and others competing at Central Mets, North Mets, and East Mets fields.
Astros meet the Giants in San Francisco on FSNH at 9 p.m. Basketball features Orlando at Detroit on TNT at 6 p.m. and San Antonio at New Orleans on TNT at 8:30 p.m. Hockey pits Pittsburgh at Philadelphia on Versus at 6:30 p.m.

Barbers Hill meets Montgomery 30-3 in a Region III semifinal three game series opening tonight in Montgomery with Game 2 and a potential Game 3 Friday at BH. BH aims to advance to state with strong pitching from Chandler Hall and timely hitting as they seek wins this week.
Alvin College, 21-7, edged closer to the Region XIV tourney final as Baytown players Jesse Husband Jason Fuqua and Brett Kinsel fueled the Dolphin run. Husband batted .393 with 44 hits and 26 RBIs while Fuqua and Kinsel spun strong pitching and relief work. Kristi Malpass led Houston Baptist with 19 wins and 146 1/3 innings pitched.
Sterling graduate posted a 1.72 ERA and 125 hits allowed over 33 games with a .319 batting average for 11 RBIs and two steals. Katie Hale of Southern Nazarene earned SAC second team honors after a .373 average, 57 hits, 13 doubles, three triples, .614 slugging, .419 OBP, six homers, 28 RBIs, 23 runs, nine walks, and a stolen base. Leah Boatright of Texas State was named to the Southland all-league second team as the sophomore helped the Bobcats over McNeese State in a three-game series with two hits, a double, and one RBI in the win. Taylor Hall also drove in a run for TSU.
Anahuac Lady Panthers place Krysta Martin Amanda Ritter and Kaitlin Broussard on the 24 2A softball first team. The team also has three second team picks Kelsi Laskoskie Brittany Sherman and Taylor Collins along with honorable mentions Amber Dehoyos and Jill Speights. The squad tied Warren for the league crown and earned the program’s first postseason win in a bi district sweep over Nacogdoches Central Heights. Martin struck out 194 in 154 innings and hit .373 with a .489 on base. Ritter hit .313 with 29 RBIs while Broussard batted .389 with a .491 on base and 37 stolen bases.
