Representatives from Lee College and San Jacinto Mall will cut a ribbon Tuesday to dedicate the college's Continuing Education classroom at the mall.
Courses will cover camera interior decorating floral design dollhouse construction wardrobe and makeup skills. Defensive driving classes will be held Saturdays at the mall starting this summer with registration beginning Wednesday. Classes meet near Royal Optical and Montgomery Ward in a newly dedicated mall space, says mall manager Jim Foster.
Auto industry figure Lee Jacocca tied the knot while a row over a wedding warranty drew national coverage. Three city divisions relocate to the 50 year old post office building, vacated last July and bought by the city in August for 80 thousand dollars. The Crime Prevention Unit uses the first floor with offices, a display area, and a computer room, while Community Development and Health move to the second floor after April planning.

The Texas State Board of Education voted seven to six to postpone formal teacher evaluations from September to spring 1987, citing stress on educators amid school reforms and reading writing tests. The plan delays career ladder score consideration and allows a formative period this year, with local boards using fall appraisals for renewals.
