At the 6:30 p.m. Baytown City Council meeting at Chambers 2401 Market Street an outside-law-firm attorney will discuss pursuing additional costs from the Emergency Operations Center project. Frost Constructors Inc. has proposed a sixth change order for 505,647 raising the EOC total to 3.4 million. original price was 2.7 million.
Baytown police and DPS troopers tracked a man who fled a traffic stop near Interstate 10 and North Main Street on Wednesday evening. Officials said a gun was found in his pocket during the stop. He broke away, fled into a wooded area, and was finally apprehended after a search with tracking dogs and a police cordon. page 8A.
A 25 year old Pasadena woman died after jumping from the Fred Hartman Bridge early Tuesday. Police said an eyewitness reported she parked on the bridge shoulder and jumped near the center line. La Porte Police alerted the Constable's Office and Baytown Police.
