Drought and Water Wells Update in Baytown Council
Baytown council considered bids for Well 10 and Well 16 work as part of drought response. Contractors from Texas Water Wells Houston Lane Texas and The Fast Drifting Co Katy submitted bids around 2270 and 1000 dollars respectively, though engineers have not yet verified. Plans include reworking Well 10 to tie into Baker system and pumping toward old Bertewn, and Well 16 with a four pump setup to push water out. A new well would supply about 1800 gallons per minute and take four to six weeks to drill. Transmission mains on Decker Drive and Baytown Park near Garth Road aim to mix higher quality water and improve supply. Details reflect 1950s project notation and staffing.
