Sterling football coach resigns after two-year tenure
Sterling head coach Brett Sawyer submitted his resignation Tuesday ending a two year stint as campus coordinator and football coach. He posted a 10-10 record, one of the program’s best runs since the early 1990s, and will become defensive coordinator and track coach at Boerne High School. Sawyer cited a desire to be closer to family and personal reasons, saying the decision was the hardest of his career. He praised the Sterling community and noted prior experience as Hutto defensive coordinator before taking Sterling’s job.
