Baytown police investigate three weekend car thefts involving a 1967 Plymouth at J.M. Remkes 2300 Taft unit, a 1965 Chevrolet stolen from Cash and Carry Motors back lot, and a $800 Mercury taken from Gulf Coast Hospital lot. Galena Man Dies In Car and Motorcycle Wreck
A Galena Park man was killed and another injured Sunday on FM 565 in Chambers County when a motorcycle collided with a car. Richard A. Howard, 28, died in the head on crash with Baytown driver Ricky Wayne Dunn. Samuel Daniel Dumoit, 42, of Pasadena, the other rider, is in fair condition after swerving to avoid the car and losing control.

Services for H. W. Fowler father of Dan Fowler of Baytown were held at 10 a m Monday in First Baptist Church Burkburnette Texas. Dan Fowler is minister of education at Baytown s First Baptist Church. Memorials may be given to the church scholarship fund in Burkburnette. Fowler died Saturday after a lengthy illness.

Baytown Fire Department handled nine calls over the weekend with only one damaging incident at 1304 Hawthorne where a couch ignited early Saturday morning, causing minor damage.
