United Way group gears up to build support
The United Way of Greater Baytown Area and Chambers County plans the 2014 2015 campaign. Executive Director David Mohlman says employers not yet engaged will be introduced to United Way at a lunch with Bay Area technology and Texas United Way leaders. Local contributions average about 3 million annually, with 2.4 million from individuals via workplace campaigns. See United page 3.

Motorcyclist dies after high speed crash near Highway 146
A 25 year old Dayton man Kyle Bacon died when his motorcycle crashed into a ditch after speeding at 115 mph in a 60 mph zone. He passed a Baytown officer in the center lane then struck a Chevrolet Silverado. The driver of the pickup was uninjured. Eleska Aubespin.

Two arrested for assault in Baytown shooting incident
A 33 year old Baytown man was beaten by the father and brother of his girlfriend during a storage unit renovation in the 1000 block of North Road. Timothy and Derek Sanford fired shotguns, were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and jailed on $10,000 bonds. Eleska Rubespin.
