Barbers Hill National Honor Society Formed
Barbers Hill has chartered a National Honor Society chapter with juniors and seniors admitted by a minimum 85 grade average and other criteria. Inductees include Wynona Montgomery, Sandy Presnall, Alma Tyer, Genie Brooks, and more, with Mrs. Carolyn Larrison sponsor. The group plans service projects for Barbers Hill High School.

HJH Band and Choir Plan Busy Spring Program
The HJH choir and band schedule a combined Friday night program at 7 20 with the choir performing songs including Speak Up Near Thee Would be Staying America Your Heritage and other numbers The seventh grade band follows with Service Medley and Army and Marine songs Then the Junior High Band plays The Alamo Green Leaves of Summer and the Alfred Hitchcock Show theme with guest soloist Jimmy Gibson a Kilgore College Band alum He will perform Wonderland by Night Then the finale Born to Be Free sung by the choir with band accompaniment A school play Lichin 10 Get Hitched is planned for two and a half weeks and a banquet for the graduating class May 15 at the Tower Restaurant is set with ninth grade talent invited to perform and many parent volunteers involved Details list cheerleaders twirlers and student leaders from 9th grade through eighth grade and note school staff sponsorship and outfits for guests.
