After a week of public debate over a June 15 strike or lockout, ExxonMobil and United Steel Workers Local 13-2001 announced a tentative agreement late Friday. Patty Errico, public and government affairs manager for ExxonMobil's Baytown facility, stated the sides averted a work stoppage.
ExxonMobil Baytown and United Steelworkers announced a tentative three-year labor contract addressing health and safety language after public 60 day strike notice and a potential lockout. Both sides cited safety culture as key, with a possible lockout or strike looming if talks falter.
