City Council votes to condemn a drainage ditch on Mrs. Trifon’s property on Texas Avenue beside Texas Hardware. City Attorney read a memo to City Manager Middleton detailing two proposals from Mrs. Trifon: keep and clean the existing diagonally crossing ditch or grant a 25 foot easement for a ditch around the edge.
City records show the B F Trotter Company criticized municipal bookkeeping in a 1948 audit dated November 27 1948 noting water deposits are a liability and refunds may be missing. They faulted bond and interest records unclear consolidations and incomplete records amid a tight city transition.
