Anahuac ISD seeks 15 million bond for sports upgrades
Anahuac ISD asks voters for a 15 million bond to fund a new field and stadium plus baseball and softball complexes. The plan would update facilities dating to 1939, add maintenance upgrades at the elementary and middle/high schools, and install new servers. Early voting runs today 8 am to 4 pm at the district administration building with the election on Saturday 7 am to 7 pm.

Chambers Youth Show crowns grand champion steer at 11K
Chambers County Youth Project Show marked its 60th year with strong attendance and auction results. Katrina Swope won the Grand Champion county steer for 11 000 from Thriftee Food Center. Montana Mitchell sold Reserve Champion steer for 4 500 as 275 livestock entries plus 1 000 exhibit hall entries were noted.
