City officials seek the final FEMA reimbursement for hurricane Alicia costs. FEMA could cover up to 75 percent or $1.181 million, with current estimates at $691,000. So far the city has received $528,000. any excess may boost general funds ahead of a possible bond sale.
The Baytown area will see fair and cool nights and sunny warm days through Friday. Temperatures drop to the low 60s Thursday night and rise to the upper 80s Friday.

He cites county value declines, growth, and budget stewardship as priorities while noting his veterinary degree and family commitments.
Services set for Lori Kathleen Sneed 12 of Mont Belvieu at Trinity Tabernacle with Revs James Smith J R Woods and James Mills officiating. She died Wednesday at Texas Children's Hospital after battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia and non Hodgkins lymphoma. Fundraisers supported her treatment. Earthman Funeral Home directs arrangements.
Police say Leeroy Wilbert Rogers 26 of 1413 Yupon will have attempted murder charges upgraded to capital murder after 7 11 clerk Denice Kay Smith died Tuesday. Rogers held without bond on the original charge. detectives arrested him at his home early Tuesday in the April 20 shooting during a robbery.
