Emergency Corps will meet at the corps headquarters on South Main at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Tri-City Beach Civic Association postponed its meeting to May 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the community building. Women of All Saints Episcopal host a luncheon for Women of Trinity Episcopal at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday. Garden Keepers meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mrs. Lowell Westerman’s home with a flower arranging demo by Mrs. C. H. Bone. P TA Council officers to be installed at Sterling Municipal Library at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday by Mrs. R. Z. Battarbee. An Eighth-Grade party is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Robert E. Lee High School cafeteria, hosted by Baytown Parents Council. Edger stolen from 300 W Miriam between April 20 and Saturday. A towel dispenser was stolen from a car wash at 1907 Carolina with no towels or change remaining.

Car hits phone booth injuring Baytown woman

A Baytown woman inside a phone booth was injured when Odis Leval Hathaway 65 of 1623 WillowBaytown struck the booth with his car at Lee Drive and West Main. Hathaway, charged with driving while intoxicated and negligent collision, remained at Gulf Coast Hospital for observation after treatment for contusions and abrasions.

Former Baytonian to receive Purple Heart in Vietnam

A Baytown native and grandson of Mr and Mrs J B Hollaway Sr will be awarded the Purple Heart for shrapnel wounds from a mine explosion in Vietnam. The 20 year old Marine medic, a former Robert E Lee student, joined two years ago and served in Okinawa before Vietnam. He is the son of J B Hollaway Jr of Pasadena and Mrs Lawrence Biggs of Kountze.

U S Plans Major Pullout of Forces From Germany
