Colonial Draws Largest Field
FORT WORTH AP The Colonial National Invitation Golf Tournament next week will have its largest field and, in the opinion of S. M. Bingham, the tournament chairman, it should be the closest. Bingham, at a dinner for press radio and television Monday night, pointed to the growing number of playoffs in golf to show how close competition has become. He said since just about everybody picked to play here was capable of winning, a four or five away tie for the title was possible. Arnold Palmer, top money winner and master of the come-from-behind, heads a field of 57 in the $40,000 tournament.
