Baytown to be base for new Coastal Newspaper Network

John Black named manager of the Coastal Newspaper Network which will base a Baytown bureau in the South Ward Precinct 2 office and serve 16 Southeast Texas newspapers. City May Pave Boat Ramp Area At Park

City council considers paving the boat ramp area at Roseland Park after complaints of mud and dirt washing in. Fourteen thousand five hundred dollars has been spent on dirt work with a projected 136000 for a hard surface parking area and service road to relieve tidal flooding. Two Baytown men Richard Merling and Clark criticized the plan while mayor Tom Gentry and City Manager Fritz Lanham defended it saying the ditch and paving would reduce mud and improve access for boats and trailers.
