Rezoning Split Deepens Baytown High School Rivalry
In Goose Creek CISD Baytown two rezoning options would raise Lee High School's economically disadvantaged share to about 77 percent from 74, provoking anger among Sterling and Lee supporters. Homeowners near Lakewood and Goose Creek Country Club fear property values will fall and press for Sterling attendance, while others warn that widening the socioeconomic gap harms GCCISD and the community.
