Court ruling could cost Texas $8.9 million yearly
The Texas state comptroller warns a civil appeals court decision may reduce sales tax revenue by up to 8.9 million annually. If taxes cannot be collected on sales under 24 cents, the loss would rise to about 5.96 million, as legislators seek to reform the 2 percent tax on low cost items.
