Sea Scouts Recreate Baytown Cannon History
Baytown Sea Scouts Ship 93 spent six months restoring the mid 1700s French cannon replique once near Rebel Motel. They built a white oak carriage, bored and sleeved by Baytown Ace Industrial Services, christened Maria. The cannon has fired black powder charges in Civil War reenactments at Liendo Plantation, a Stephen F. Austin funeral reenactment, and a salute to the Texas Navy in Galveston.
