Funeral services for Willis Fredrick McBride 76 of 307 E Morrill were held at 10 a.m. Monday. McBride died Saturday night in a local hospital. He was a retired carpenter contractor. Survivors include his widow Nannie McBride of Baytown five daughters Mrs T D Pounds Mrs R B Pounds Miss Christine McBride and Mrs J B Mills all of Baytown and Mrs Bayarer of EL Smith pastor of Cy. Bench Baptist Church officiated. Burial followed at Memory Gardens.

County Tax Office extends hours for 1985 license plates
Harris County Tax Assessor Collector Cacl Smith said the Baytown tax office will stay open until 8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday to handle a rush for 1985 car license plates. He expects about 675000 licenses sold with a total around 500000 to 1 million dollars. Last year 750000 licenses were issued countywide.

Bombs found in Birmingham spate of blasts raises alarms
In Birmingham Alabama a sixth dynamite bomb was found in a Nexro neighborhood as police boost patrols. Five other devices believed to be wired to explode were found Sunday in a city with a bomb history since 1955. The latest bomb was detected under a panel truck at Poole Funeral Chapel disturbing the Negro community. Army demolition experts who disarmed the previous devices handled this discovery.

Trustees Set Special Meeting On Personnel Matters
A school board will meet at 7 30 Monday to discuss personnel matters and other items. In closed session, trustees will review recommendations on rehiring teachers and clerical workers. A Sunday night blast at Humble Baytown Refinery 631 and Refining Co. left an 80 000 gallon naphtha tank heavily damaged and a three hour fire.
