La Porte will expand Happy Harbor Methodist Home under a 117000 contract to Moore and Moore Construction. A new wing will add capacity for 46 residents and include two dining lounges a sub kitchen and offices. Land was donated by Gen Maurice Hirsch and wife of Houston. Ground breaking set for 2:30 p.m. March 21.

Candidate for State House Opposes Oyster Reef Redging
Clyde Miller, running for State Representative Place 1, told Bayshore Red Reel and Gen Club members he opposes continued redging of live oyster reefs in Galveston Bay and will work to end this destruction of natural resources. Pig Pen Owner Charged With Sanitary Nuisance
John Boyd of 3918 Lynsfield Houston was charged in Justice of the Peace Glenn Vickery's court with maintaining a sanitary nuisance in a populated area. The Harris County Health Department sanitarian cited a pig pen on Cedar Grove Lane in Barrett Station. A Baytown man had been fined 350 in December for an unsanitary hog pen in Linus.
