V for Vendetta film review highlights political tyranny
A critical summary notes the film retells Guy Fawkes history and places V as a masked terrorist fighting a surveillance state in a Britain ruled by xenophobic authorities. Portman and Reeves supply intense performances, with Stephen Rea Fry and John Hurt anchoring supporting roles. The piece private critiques the muddled extrapolation from Thatcher era conservatism to a post 9 11 world yet acknowledges the nerve it provokes despite heavy handed moments.
