St Louis students help complete Baytown Habitat home
A Baytown Habitat for Humanity ceremony honored the Mary Institute Country Day School volunteers from St. Louis who built the Sterling Street house for Kim Schells and her two daughters. About 25 of the 50 volunteers returned to Baytown with Josh Smith coordinating 41 students and nine adults during spring break. Mayor Pete Alfaro and Habitat board members praised the group for their dedication and hammer work. Schells tearfully expressed gratitude for the community effort that made the dream of a home a reality.
