John Wayne Visits Baytown For Hellfighters Shoot
Hollywood star John Wayne drew crowds and traffic in Baytown last week while filming Hellfighters. Wayne arrived about 8 pm in a leased station wagon, mingled with stunt crews, signed autographs, posed for photos, and joked with workers amid a nightlong shoot that ended around 4 am. He joked about bank rupturing Calhoun Oil Co. and impressed police and locals with his friendly demeanor.
