Baytown opens the Bergeron Park Splash Deck, its second oldest park after Roseland. The $250,000 facility, funded by the Municipal Development District, features water arches and ground jets with varied spray patterns. Open daily 10 am to 8 pm, with two more splash decks planned.

San Jacinto Methodist Hospital announced the first carotid stent procedure in Baytown performed by Edward W. Leahey M D F A C C Interventional Cardiologist. The catheter based treatment unblocks narrowed carotid arteries speeding recovery and reducing complications. Eugene Richard, the first patient, praised the painless procedure and local access.

Baytown Gas Prices Among The Lowest In State
Baytown maintains very low gasoline costs as gas price tracking shows statewide comparisons. Texas DPS: Driver Amnesty Still an Option
Texas DPS reports only 54,035 eligible drivers have taken part in the driver responsibility amnesty, about 7.5 percent of 713,444. The one time program forgives surcharges from Sept 30, 2004 to Dec 31, 2008, letting delinquent drivers pay 10 percent of the original amount or up to 250 dollars.
