Dredging request near waste pits raises alarms
Hollmar Land has submitted a March 4 letter to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeking permission to dredge near the San Jacinto River Waste Pits for a barge terminal. Critics say a permit is required, not a permission letter, and residents in Beach City and Channelview Highlands are urged to comment to prevent more barges north of I 10.
