Fugitive Crosby man arrested after 1992 sex assault conviction
Stanley Hershal Blackwell, 58, longtime Crosby resident, was arrested at Chapel of the Pines Cemetery and Crematory in Crosby after evading capture since a 1992 sexual assault conviction in the Austin area. He kept his name, voted from the Krenek Road address, and ran a mortuary business before his arrest. He disappeared for years despite living in Harris County business locations. Blackwell was sentenced to 10 years in prison but disappeared, according to authorities.
