Rodriguez drives USA past Japan in WBC opener comeback
In Anaheim Alex Rodriguez delivered a bases loaded two out single in the ninth to lift Team USA to a 4 3 win over Japan in Round 2 opening play. Vernon Wells started the ninth with his third hit as Randy Winn sacrificed and an error by Tsuyoshi Nishioka on Iwamura’s throw allowed Rodriguez to reach and clinch the victory.
